Vacuum Re-circ gear, and 440 alloys.
Hi Chaps!
Two quick questions, 1) Have spied a vacuum power cabin air recirculation kit on a 340 in the scrappers. The pipes are all gone (on a quick inspection!), but the flap, arms, vacuum unit, and switch are all there. What other bits do I need (one-way valve? pipework?), and how does it all plumb together? Where does it get he vacuum from - the inlet manifold? 2) Have spied 440 turbo alloys in the scrappers for £80 for four, incl part worn tires. Downsides? We just bought some at the same price for my mates sierra - hardly mint condition, but not bad for £80! They seem to be really badly balanced, but a quick trip to ATS / quikfit would solve this I guess. I have seen many 360s with these 440 alloys (they were on almost all the early 480s too) - so I guess they fit fine. Is there anything else I need to consider? The insurers should be cool with it, as they are a Volvo part (and hardly 19" rudeboy jobbies!) cheers James

RE: Vacuum Re-circ gear, and 440 alloys.
Hi James.
They will fit just fine! The following site is a good reference point when it comes to PCDs and offsets etc for wheels. One thing people often forget when mixing and matching wheels is the centre hub diameter. eg. A Rover 400 wheel will fit on a Volvo 440, but a Volvo 440 wheel will not fit on a Rover 400. Reason? PCD is the same, offset is compatible, but the centre diameter is bigger on the Rover!! Anyway, Enjoy. http://www.uk-hotrods.co.uk/technical/pcd%20chart.htm Dan. |
