  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default Dody Electrics

Hi Guys been having problems with my s40 GDI wiring lomb, about ten wires under the radiator have recently needed repairing. Having asked a few questions I understand this not uncommon, but what I need to know is this something that is gonna happen again is time to change cars ??? HELP!

Default dodgy wires

you are correct in assuming this to be known fault, which is caused by heat from the radiator cracking the insulation on the wire, thus allowing dampness to penertrate and rot the copper.
as you seem to have renewed many of the wires in the loom, in all probability it will be long while before it happens to the new wires, a solution is to protect the loom near the raditor with a heat shield.
