Default V60 Cross Country D4 AWD

Anyone towing with a V60 Cross Country D4 AWD?

After 2 happy years and 40000 miles, probably 5000+ towing I am trading in my XC60 D5 auto for one.

Changing to a slightly smaller caravan too, though not much lighter will tip the scales at around 1450Kg.

It's a very VAG biased magazine this I find but it's informative enough I think, admittedly it's not an AWD one but it gives a rought idea

Gives an idea.... but why would you test a Volvo XC model for towing but not pick an AWD version?

Because they need a reason not to like it so they can say their beloved Skoda's are better, fact is an AWD V60 is a heavy car and weight is your friend and all that weight makes it a better match for more caravans making it a more relevant car. However the 2WD car has the new VEA engine whereas the AWD has the old 5 cylinder still so I suppose, being less cynical, it's to test something new.

Having towed with a Superb, 3 Octavia Vrs diesels and a Yeti I get why they like Skodas!

I think the mags are always restricted by what car companies will lend them with a towbar.
