I bought a couple of CarlinKit 5.0 for my wife's KIA and my Ford six months ago. Plug in and off you go, takes about 2 minutes to sync. I needed both CarPlay and Android Auto in one box, my wife has Apple I use Android, switches between both seamlessly. You'll need to check if this works with Volvo.

Wireless does hammer the battery on the phone though, the output from the box can only maintain the charge on a phone with 5000mAh battery it won't charge the phone. If you have a wireless charger pad just lay the phone on there.

I have an Android phone and this is not a problem. For iPhone users it has been previously stated on this forum around a year ago that downloading an app facilitates this for iPhonet I can’t remember it's name. Will do a search and come back later if another forumite has not remembered this before.

You should take a look at the AudioWagon app, it plays back your audio files from a usb drive and you will be able to control playback etc from your centre screen then.

Sorry, hadn’t read the post properly be didn’t know the the 2032 had AAOS, nor was I aware that you could install apps like Waze directly on these.

As you’ve also said, Music streaming should work via Bluetooth anyway!
