Default 2024 MY, FWD or AWD?

I am confused

I've had my 2024 my XC40 B4 mild hybrid since January (first registered July 23) and was under the impression that it is FWD. Everything I have read suggests this is so. A few days ago, whilst re-insuring it, it kept coming up as an AWD on search engines. Yesterday I had my neighbour look underneath it for rear driveshafts. (Oh, to be able to do that). He couldn't see any.

Can anyone throw any light on the matter?

Due to expecting builders in soon my paperwork including the V5 is packed away.

Many thanks and ignore the V90 info below

I'm not familiar with the B range but as I once knew it.......
You can have front wheel drive. You might have AWD which is front wheel drive and electronically adapted drive to all wheels in case of slippery surfaces. OR you can have 4WD which is as you would expect (usually 2 drive shafts). It does become more complicated in that Volvo driving modes allow low speed (up to 25mph) in the AWD models. Even worse if the car has electric motors in all 4 corners.

Not strictly the answer you are looking for! If MY 24 have the car settings menu the answer might be in there!

If there are only driveshafts going to the front wheels its front wheel drive, on website now B3 & B4 Mild Hybrid are front wheel drive. but B4 was also available to order in AWD in the past.
