Don't know but 3-6 seconds to start is totally not right. Even with a weak battery ours started in 2. Now starts immediately again like it did a few years ago.

My Focus shared similar symptoms and a new Bosch battery gave the same results as you. |

Just as an update I've had the car in the garage since Monday...
- Went to change the oil and discovered the sump pan was cracked and gunked up with silicone sealant. New sump pan ordered and due to be fit today after cleaning everything off. - Because of the starting issue, the glow plugs are going to be replaced (intermittent fault detected on the relay). - Fuel filter is being changed. In going to do so, the coolant system needs moving and draining apparently. Garage went to turn the bleed screw and the thread has gone so that needs replacing. - New battery fitted which cleared 3 of the 4 codes (relating to low voltage) but didn't fix the starting issue which I hope is purely down to the glow plug relay error. - Injectors are being cleaned with Terraclean and fuel line is being cleaned. Will hopefully pick her back up this evening and will post the results. |
