Default Tougher MOT for diesels

I think everybody's aware of tougher emission tests from May 2018
I have got a 2005 S40 2.0D. Car always passed emission test, but my main concern is will it pass emission tests with these new mot regulations?
Car had dpf removed and was mapped 5 years ago.
Should I be worried?

Yes.
Even if they don't spot evidence of a removed dpf, you're allowed zero smoke.
I think the new rules will weed out a lot of cars and I'm glad my Euro 3 non dpf car won't be affected.

You are only allowed no visible smoke if the car has a DPF (which is what I think you meant to say). Some 2.0d models up to MY 2007 were never fitted with DPFs (incl my V50).

EGR delete is a fail as well.

I did say that.
OP has (or rather should have) a dpf so is allowed no smoke.
My Euro 3 D5 has no dpf so isn't affected by the rule.

I'd be unaffected anyway as my car fast passes with no smoke each year but that's by the by.

Yes.
You modified the emissions systems on your vehicle and it no longer complies with the emissions regulations that were valid at date of manufacture.

You need to bring your vehicle back into proper compliant state, or take it of the road and scrap it.

Those are your two options.

Not a particularly responsible approach. Probably tantamount to misrepresentation if not disclosed at the time of sale.

Misrepresentation is when you state a falsehood.
Not saying anything at all isn't illegal and voluntary disclosure of all known issues isn't a legal requirement.

Recon you should stick it in for and see what happens (leaving good time to allow any decisions of the back of it) ... then decide. Things naturally vary from MOT station to MOT station, so dont go to a dealer really and just find a friendly joe that wont rip you off.

based on that outcome make your decision.
