D5244T15 Coolant Identification
Greetings all,
Just picked up a (new to me) 63' MY14 V70 D5 215 Geartronic with approx 80k on the clock. Getting to know the car/engine and finding a few questions as I dig around under the bonnet. Freaked out a bit when I thought I saw oil in the coolant tank: turns outs its just some black plastic baffles inside However I'm a bit confused about the type of coolant that has been used in the car. Looks yellow/orange (some kind of HOAT?)... its not particularly bright in colour but pretty clear (no obvious cloudiness, sludge, particles, etc). I thought most most ran green or blue OAT coolant from the factory? Full dealer service history but no record of any coolant changes. Any thoughts? Many thanks Last edited by mttrnd; Apr 8th, 2018 at 12:00. |

Just get the coolant from a main dealer.
It's reasonably priced and guaranteed correct.

There is no coolant change schedule on Volvos as it is/was designed to last indefinitely and always did up until around 2010 , and the parts dept coolant still will .
