What is your car usage. Do you really need one, big commute, or do you have one for enjoyment, or both?

In the Seat, my main car, 200 miles. In the Volvo 50-100, depending on how nice the weekend weather is. At one point a few years ago I was covering just over 500 miles a week with various commitments, and I never want to do that again - it took all the enjoyment out of driving.
At least we have cars that will happily do that these days - when my father was a freelance trumpet player in the 80s he used to do between one and two thousand miles a week in a Triumph 1300 and then an MGB, both of which broke down almost daily. Eventually he got fed up with that, and bought his first Volvo...

I used to commute to Sutton in Ashfield, 180m round trip twice a week for twenty years. Now I just drive for enjoyment, oh and fishing trips.

Have a works van so no comute milage on cars.
Milage on cars is very dependant on circumstance and varies between 0 and 1200 miles a week.

I have 2 big cars because it's what I want, while the landrover does not do many miles to the gallon it will and does go anywhere, the Volvo is a wonderful place to be no matter how long the journey and averages 41 mpg. OK I could not run them on pension but as I'm not retireing they will stay for the foreseeable future.

Paul.

Not measured it exactly but it'll be between 35 and 40mls a week under normal useage.Realistically for this I don't need a car which is probably why I only own two

Depending on a week really.
Back when I had company van, it was around 20 miles a week..
Now it all depends on jobs- mostly I'll go once to drop the tools off, then I commute by public transport.
And eventually I'm picking tools up, too.

Add to that the "a bit longer", occasional trips..
Airports, holidays, jobs outside of London etc.
I'd say there are weeks when I'll do 15 miles.
And there are weeks when I'll do 800 miles.
And there are rare moments when I strike several hundred within hours.

This past year I've been doing around 400-500 miles per week. The weekly amounts vary so it could be 800 one week, 300 the next.

Half is work, the rest leisure, dad's taxi, family visits etc. With my wife mother going through long term illness and my son going to university, hopefully, in September I can only see this continuing.

I could nearly manage my work mileage with an electric car but the distances required for family travel rule one out...............so far 😁

My 2.0d auto Superb is just that. Ideal for what I need.

About 300-350 miles a week for my work commute. I could probably do similar once a fortnight going to meet/shows/day trips out.
