Just looking through some paperwork that came with the car, found a sale advert from 10 years ago that stated it had a built in TV, nipped out to the car and lo-and-behold, a 'TV' input has appeared on the HU since I fixed the satnav.
Guessing this is a white elephant in the days of digital only TV? |

Analogue only input I’m afraid. My s60 had it and I quite enjoyed watching tv when parked up waiting for the wife to fill up her trolley in the supermarket. For about a year. When the analogue signal was then switched off, bugger. Was a clear picture too but switched off when travelling over 10 mph or something.
The tuner is in the boot, and I think the aerial is built into the boot lid? I remember asking Volvo what they were going to do about helping owners with the digital switchover, to which they replied ‘nothing, sorry’. I believe there are some fiddly expensive options out there to allow a dvd to be played and digital tv, the latter needing a standalone digital aerial though.

You can use the TV channel for a reversing camera.

Anyone know if the satnav is running the latest firmware from the image? If not, can I (rather than Volvo) update it?

The picture shows that you have an all EU 2015 map loaded, containing the UK and neighbouring countries (DVD 2 of a 4-DVD set)
This shows that this is a DVD based nav system (I have the hard drive based system) The map DVDs contain the operating system for the nav, so loading a 2015 map also loads the correct operating system available at the time A 2015/2016 DVD set for your car carries these part numbers Product: Volvo RTI MMM/P2001 - Europe Medium: DVD Volvo-Part-No. (VCC): 31470159 1546 Navteq-Part-No. (VCC): T1000-24412/24413/24414/12000 Navteq-Pack-No.: T1000-24411 Check the DVD box you have if this is your map I am not sure if a 2017/2018 set has been released

Thanks, I have a 2015 map, but just the one genuine disc for UK and some of Western Europe. It previously had 2008 maps of which I have the full set.
It is a dvd only system and didn’t load any firmware when I put the disc in, so guessing it’s up to date. |

If you don't mind me asking Reggit, which model of ICE have you got please.
And do you think one will fit my 52 reg V70?
