Default V70 D5 - Which Engine?

Youngest son recently bought a newly MOT'd 06 V70 for a really good price but we are both confused as to what engine is actually installed in it.
It's a 6 speed auto and the supplying dealer has it down as a 185 hp se model.
The log book has the capacity of the engine as 2401 which would seem to preclude this as the 136 kW model has a capacity of 2400.
Is there any way of establishing beyond doubt what engine is under the bonnet?

The engine type is coded in the chassis number so post that up and we can decode it.

An '06 will almost certainly be the 185 E4 engine.

If a black engine cover (and 5-speed 'box) it's a 163 Euro 3.
If a grey engine cover (and 6-speed 'box) it's a 185 Euro 4.

Thanks, Alan. Vin is yv1sw71402621201 and it starts and finishes with the symbol for a male or something like it. Meant to say it's got the black and grey engine cover.

With a grey engine cover, it could also be the Euro 4 163 badged as a 2.4D

Your quoted uoted VIN needs 17 digits but only has 16 so isn't long enough.
I'll pm separately about Dice.
