Engine Oil
Shell HELIX ULTRA AV-L PRO 0w30
Hi All Purchased the above oil (10L) for my V70 P2 2.4D (Miles - 171k) as Website indicated that it was a ACEA A5/B5 grade. http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/engi...550041861.html When it arrived the words as follows appears on the can: Specifications: ACEA C2, C3; VW 504.00/507.00. Advice Will the above oil be OK in my car? Should I request a change to Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV 0W-30 Specifications: ACEA A5/B5; VW 503.00/506.00/506.01? Context I do about 20k a year, with oil changes every 6 months, with the Summer Grade being a 5W/30 A5/B5 grade. The oil was about £5 litre. Comments welcome!!! |

Change it to what you want. You could spend half your life researching ACEA C this and C that and with a squinty eye on it convince yourself there is no material difference ( most likely true ) but why bother. Life is too short.
If I was stuck and needed topping up I would put some of that stuff with no hesitation. |

They've sent you the wrong oil - I would ask them to change it. It may be they've misdescribed the oil on the website and don't have the higher grade oil.
