Help - anti skid, transmission, engine service messages
XC90 06 plate. Can you help please, car has broken down 5 times now -
symptoms: 3 warning messages one after the other 1:anti skid service required 2: transmission service required 3:engine system service urgent car then stops or enters limp mode. The first time it happened garage renewed 3 injectors, second time renewed remaining 2 injectors, third time replaced wiring loom, fourth time removed engine covers saying water was dripping onto injectors and now its broken down again -it’s exactly the same symptoms everytime- they’ve now said to scrap the car cos it needs Ecu at £6k. Do anyone have any ideas at all |

You have spent a fortune so far allowing idiots to guess with your wallet. You absolutely must get the codes read with Volvo Vida and find out what the actual problem is. No one here can help you until you get the codes done.

I think you do need another garage because whilst ECU's are expensive - they're not £6k...
Whilst injectors can cause odd problem, so can failing batteries and alternators - and it usually starts with "ANTI SKID SERVICE REQUIRED". But as has been said - get it into someone experienced - probably a friendly Volvo Indie. Often these electrical gremlins are something very simple and easy to fix - once it has been correctly diagnosed.

Hi, I have had same issue with a local garage. Strangely same issue with injectors after they supposedly fitted a new head gasket. Despite their multi thousand diagnostic computer, they could not analyse and fix problems they caused.
Car is now with a good Volvo indi. I know I should have taken it to them first... I had a look round Salisbury for you and see 'VOLTEC'. They may be more expensive quote wise, but I bet they are cheapest long term... Good luck John l |

My Car
Hi Geoff,
Just FYI, I have a MY 2006 C70 & had similar issues, various warnings, going into limp mode etc. turned out the CEM needed a clean. Car has been fine since. Perhaps similar problem with your car? Good luck. Fred |

Greg, it was not my intention to sound overly harsh but Geoff, the OP has placed his trust and wallet in an establishment that are clearly clueless. Someone experienced with Vida would probably have identified the issue at a very early stage and avoided Geoff's cash being wasted. Geoff, take all of the advice in previous posts on board and find someone who understands Volvos. You will find this a very friendly and helpful place overall so I hope you get it sorted quickly. Please don't forget to update this thread with the outcome and what the issue was as it will invariably be helpful to someone else further down the line.
