Default Auto engine cut out not working on new V90

This morning the engine would cut out when I stopped but this afternoon it failed to cut out on stopping. Any ideas anyone why this might be?

There are a number of reasons why stop start is deactivated, one of the reasons is if your car is going through a DPF regeneration, but there is a list of other reasons in the manual, battery condition, climate, several stop starts in quick succession, being in dynamic mode among others.

Having looked the manual I can still see no reason for auto stop to be deactivated. Complete mystery. See what happens tomorrow!

This was on page 403 in my manual, it may be on a different page on newer manuals.
If stop/start is not active for a prolonged period, ~ 10 minutes it is usually because of regeneration in a diesel engined car.

High current demand would prevent it from starting (laptop plugged into the 220v outlet, a/c on max on a very hot day, seat heating on), engine too cold (that’s resolved after 5min), outside temp below certain level (including faulty temp sensor).
Flat battery. If you have an electrical problem somewhere that drains your battery when the car is switched off you will have this problem as stopstart disables below certain charge battery voltage. If your car sat in storage for a long time from new without being driven your battery could be a mess even if there is nothing wrong with electrics.
Mine took two years to solve this including changing charging controller for the battery and replacing the battery but that was a common early year model problem that should be solved in current model years.

I dont believe this applies to my car - more likely its diesel regeneration but will see what happens today!

Thanks for sharing.

Default DPF regeneration

Can you please explain what DPF regeneration is?
Is this anything to do with the fact that I have only been doing short runs?
The auto cut out was working again today
