Default Volvo fixed towbar removal?

Hi,
I just got a new-to-me '12 V50 D3, my first Volvo, and I'm very happy with it (so far ).
It has the fixed genuine towbar fitted (looks like this: https://accessories.volvocars.com/en...CC-449278/2012). I only plan to use the towbar a couple of times a year, and I'm wondering if there is any easy, safe, reversible way of removing it?

Thanks!

Sounds like a slightly fruitless exercise to me given the effort involved and the risk of damaging wiring looms. I suspect the ECU will expect the trailer module to be there and may throw faults if you removed it without software coding it out. If you're never going to use it again I can see why you might remove it for aesthetics but even if you're going to use it 2-3 times per year I can't see the worth in removing and refitting. We use our towbar perhaps once a year and I never entertained the idea of removing it.

Looking at it, it might be possible to remove the swan neck (I think that's what it's called? the structural member with the towball on the end of it) leaving the electrical connector etc in place. But if it's all one unit, then yeah, I think I'll just leave it in place. Thanks!
