Yes Mark will do. Had assumed that the over filling was all down to DPF, but it seems to excessive to just be that alone.

Also the engine codes are volvo , ford peugeots specific and not generic ex 4204T =
D = diesel 4=number of cylinders 20 displacement in 0.1 /l = 2.0 L 4 = revision T= Turbo , So just comparing the numbers/letters will not work and I think still that the Ford / Peuegot block will fit , Volvo even uses the MTX75 Mondeo / Focus gearbox (atleast this is the info in Vida)

Just to let you know that Ford have never made the 2.0 diesel, most 2.0 used in Mondeo Kuga, Galaxy & Focus were made and assembled by Volvo, some early ones were shipped in from Peugot/Citroen. If you can find a good engine from a Ford you can rest easy that it's probably a Volvo coming back home.
For info, Ford only make the 1.4 & 1.6 versions of this engine.

All 1.8 and 2.0 engines up to MY10 (I think) are made by PSA (Volvo/Ford/Peugot cooperation) just to put my 5 cents outthere

Its a Peugeot/Citroen engine id say.. Im a mechanic and work with engines day in, day out. Just by looking at it you can normally tell whos made it.

Its normally as simple as looking at the oil filler cap, thats the most obvious thing.

The Volvo 2.0d engine has a Peugeot/Citroen oil filler cap as used by them across their range of engines.

The 1.8 petrol engine is a Ford engine, with an obviously Ford oil filler cap.

Peugeots 2.0 HDI engines were fantastic, so its not really a bad thing. Their 1.6HDIs were crap for blowing engines due to turbo failure.

Hi please could someone explain why DPF will cause the oil level to rise.

Thanks
Mark

When the DPF becomes partially blocked, the ECU uses extra fuelling to get the exhaust hot enough to burn off that soot in the DPF.

The extra injected fuel ends up getting past the pistons into the sump- therefore making it a diesel/oil mix and slowly but surely filling it up every time it attempts a regeneration.
