Default DPF Pressure Sensor Wiring

Morning All,

I'm new here to the forum but have dabbled here for information before. I was wondering if someone could clarify some things for me.

Currently the engine is in 'Limp Home Mode' with no EML. when connected to VIDA I have errors for;
ECM software faulty checksum
DPF pressure sensor signal too low
DPF pressure sensor signal missing
DPF blocked

I have replaced the DPF since I got the car a few months ago, I know that is OK. I also have replaced the DPF pressure sensor itself.

To the plug connected to the sensor are 3 wires. I would describe them as 'Yellow/purple', 'Brown/white' and 'White/Purple' ish. anyway, I would expect one to be 5volt supply, one to be ground and one to be a varied voltage from the sensor itself to the ECM? is this accurate?

The problem I have is that the 'Yellow/Purple' reads 5 volts, 'Brown/White' reads 0 volts and 'White/Purple' also reads 5 volts when disconnected from the sensor.

When connected to VIDA, the value of the 'VTS 200' (the sensor) reads something like 1150Hpa (only slightly less when sensor is connected). I assume that this is the value the ECM calculates when receiving 5volts from the sensor.

My assumption is then that there is a short between the signal wire and the 5V supply (haven't tested continuity between them yet to confirm). Will this be a hard short between the wires, some fault in the ECM or am I barking completely up the wrong tree?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks All.

Got exactly the same issue with my V70 D5. Although with mine, the sensor was also shot, but the short was preventing a DTC from being generated. Result, the car's been running like a Dog for a very long time. I only replaced the sensor because the old one partially disintergrated when I removed it to check for condensation. As soon as I fitted the new one,the engine went from sounding like a tractor to a smooth idle, a lot, lot quieter and best of all, the power returned. Short lived though, as I'm getting an abundance of DPF and Sensor codes and reduced power from false 'Soot Filter Full' messages.

Have you checked the pipes between the DPF and the sensor as well?
