Default DPF forced regeneration

Hi everyone : I have a 2010 v50 DrivE version with 121K on clock and it has been an amazing car throughout the last 8 years of driving it.

Five weeks ago the ORANGE Engine Service required light came on and it subsequently went into limp mode. Volvo Assist came and read the codes and diagnosed DPF issue. I agreed to their recommendation that they do a forced regeneration, and all was well......until...… last night when I went through the same process again.

Is this unusual or should I be concerned that it needed that kind of attention just five weeks later.

Any ideas or comments welcome.

Thanks in anticipaion

Was the DPF replaced at 75k miles and has the EOLYS fluid tank been topped up every 37.7k miles? If not, your DPF likely needs replacing.

There is a fundamental problem with the EGR system , has the car been serviced properly? You need to take it to a place who knows the system inside out ( dealer ) a forced regeneration is to be avoided , not done just to be safe , , it is a harsh process can drastically reduce the life of the particle filter .

car was purchased from main dealers when 1 year old and has been serviced by them throughout it's life at regular intervals. DPF was replaced at 75k miles according to service schedule. EGR valve was replaced 15 months ago at a main dealers following a breakdown. Grateful for your responses.
