Try contacting your local Volvo dealership, give them your registration and vin number, I got a new one from Rybrook Volvo in Warrington about 18 month ago.

I have a working circuit board from the inside of an old fob I replaced a few years ago (the scrapyard donor of my new engine block also had 2 x good fobs and other goodies). It was working perfectly before I replaced it.
If the plastic case of your fob is in good condition you should be able to make up a working fob.
Let me know if you want it and I'll get it posted.
Programming instructions on last page of the attached pdf.
