Default Service light reset

Hi, I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere, but I can't find it.. V40 XS 1999 1.8. I have an OBDII bluetooth connector and scantool software, but it does not establish a connection? What do I need to access the codes etc. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm 99 percent sure that the phase 1 cars can't have the service light reset without going to volvo or using specific vida / dice software, annoying as my 99 p1 has the service light up, has done for about 2 years, one day I'll get it sorted, although it's not a major thing as I know it's been serviced, it's just the ecu that isn't aware of it haha
