Hi..new here.. I've just recently ordered a T5 R Design Lux Nav, interested to see how the petrol mpg works out also, although I'm currently in a Golf R so anything will be an improvement I'm sure.

Earlier in the thread I have posted some info on the mpg of the wifes XC60 T5. 40+ is possible when driven nicely with a light foot etc. We did a 500 mls journey from Poland back to Cologne at Christmas with 3 people, dog and luggage at speeds between 90-115 and got 27mpg.

Push it in town and on country lanes and obviously it will drink a lot.

Have you looked at the respective figures on Fuelly?

I've had high performance vehicles and big family cars with similar fuel consumption figures and in my experience only in the latter does poor fuel economy become an irritation.
