V60 Twin Engine Diesel Hybrid - I've enjoyed my time
I've enjoyed owning this car for the last two years and learning what makes it tick, and how to get the best from it. I think it's an often overlooked and misunderstood car !
Plus Points + A great all-rounder - front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, all wheel drive, EV, diesel, both + Fuel economy - I've averaged 69.9 mpg, with a best range of 830m (45 litre tank), + Quiet and refined on EV, emissions free + Handles and steers better than expected + Quick with the Polestar upgrade So-so points - Hard ride on very broken roads (fine on motorway and decent A roads) - Average MPG on motorways once battery depleted - Clattery when cold D5 engine (it often is after using battery power) - Underwhelming torque at lower revs or on hills (if not combined with EV power) - Limited boot space unless you fold the seats down, poor rear leg room I'd recommend trying one, if you can buy one from Volvo with an extended warranty just in case the air con fails (mine didnt). My mileage has shifted to longer motorway trips, so I'm returning to an Audi with the 3.0 diesel quattro combination and Euro 6 emissions. If anyone's interested, I have my Ixion 3's on summer tyres going begging - let me know. |

Ah that's a shame, sorry to see you go, your posts helped me a lot when I 1st got mine.
You're right about them being overlooked and misunderstood, I had to argue with my local Volvo dealer to have the remote unplugged preheating option added. 3 people there told me it couldn't be done as it only applied to SPA cars. In the end I got the options page up on my laptop and said, what's this then? Suddenly they saw it was true and backed down. The head mechanic there also told me they are far more reliable than the newer models! Best Wishes for the future!

No problem at all! I gave up with the remote preconditioning as the Dealer couldn't get it to work, even though the said it should - they tried 3 times.
Mine is actually in the workshop at the moment. I thought it was the infamous compressor and so did the tech, but now it isn't - something more minor fortunately but Labour intensive. (I have a Volvo warranty which I would have extended for £630 if keeping). Incidentally, when arranging my used Audi, they have now ditched the 3.0TDi on most new models as the guy trading in his had to get a petrol hybrid instead. To be honest I think it's a better diesel engine than the 2.4 D5, but that's no real criticism of the V60 because of everything they managed to cram in to the package - it's all things to all people! |

Good luck, sorry to see you leave. Hope you're keeping the Yeti 'just in case'.

Also there were two software packages they had to put on to get my remote preconditioning to work, as they tried just the one and it wouldn't work.

It turned out to be the fan blower motor which is buried behind the dashboard, which needed a fair bit of dismantling.
The original tech said he thought the air con was leaking under the uv light. The ev tech the second time said it wasn't, checked the fan relay, climate control module on another car and decided it had to be the fan itself. Several hours labour covered and fan covered under the extended warranty. Definitely buy a Volvo warranty if you can ! By the way, I have a once-used Mennekes charging cable available if someone pays the postage (£15/20?). The one you plug in to a roadside charging station, rather than the regular 3 pin one. I never bothered charging away from home. Last edited by Ulrikas PA; Nov 21st, 2023 at 11:31. |

Final one - car traded into a dealer in the Stafford area, if anyone is interested.
Good car, well looked after, low mileage. |
