Default Metallic tapping noise when oil filler cap removed.

Hi, Can anyone throw some light on this please: Volvo D5 2.4, 2013. 47,000 miles.
When I remove oil filler cap with engine ticking over there is a metallic tick/tapping noise, which is quite loud. Put cap back on there's no noise. I have read in the forum about popping noise, but I would say this is more metallic.
Any idea's please.
Are hydraulic tappets fitted to this engine !
Thank you.

Hi Again, I have tried to download a video of engine noise but have failed. I am coming to the conclusion that the noise may be cam followers or associated parts. Do you think a change of engine oil to Mobil One ESP LV 0w/30w might help? Although I changed the oil not so long ago, cheaper oil, correct grade etc. The metallic clatter can only be heard when oil cap removed, and almost disappears when engine is hot !
Have you done this job ? Regards,

Besides what the manual or 1 think what the "correct" oil should be....im pretty sure it has nothing to do with your noise.
Im suspecting its the vacuum pump but we need for sure with a sound clip

Let me guess.... you have a manual gearbox?
The manual gearbox versions have a egr bypass wich is activated by a solenoid with the vacuum system ...
The vacuum box almost every time goes bad which means that if its activated the vacuum system draws in air which is disposed in the valve cover where the vacuum pump is located and creates a popping noise. When warmed up the bypass isnt used ...and the solenoid is closed.
What i did it closing the tube right before the box..this means that the cat is slightly longer warmed up...but the coolant will be faster warmed up and no vacuumpump losses (which also impairs the enginemounts)
The auto gearboxes dont have this bypass btw

Jeuss bro, that's is probably best answer I ever read. I gave up from searching cause of that noise. Also I bought 20+20 rocker arns and lifters to change it (my mech gave up last minute, I send parts back). Yes, my car has M66

You have pic where did you close?
