Default D5 S60 Sport for sale

Hi, my 2005 '55' plate S60 D5 Sport is for sale...very reluctantly I might add. Unfortunately, relocation to another and more expensive part of the country means a slimming down of the finances!

Sooo, she is sapphire black metallic, black interior, manual 6 speed, 58000mls, only two owners including me. FVSH. All the usual options plus:

-Sat Nav inc Europe maps
-TV
-Comms pack GSM phone
-Volvo on call
-Rear Parking sensors
-Electric sunroof
-Active Bi-xenon lights
-Winter pack, inc approach lights/headlamp cleaning/floor mats etc
-Family pack, booster seats and other family related items!
-Spacball gear knob!

-I have also had the car RICA upgraded which was done at the local Volvo dealers. It now has 220bhp and torque of 460nm. I would stress that whilst I had this done to treat the car (and me), I have not ragged it! Fuel economy is 46mpg around town and 56 mph on motorway with normal driving.

MOT has just been done and is valid until August next year. The car is immaculate inside and out and the alloys unmarked. I have always ensured that good high quality fuel is used as well. I know I have gone on a bit about the car, but it has a lot to offer and has been very well looked after and I am sorry to have to sell.

I am looking for a sensible offer so email me or post a reply..photos avail on request obviously

Its always the same, spend ages looking for a motor, get one (I got an S60 two weeks ago) and then see the one you really wanted up for sale.

I might add that Ive seen this vehicle and it is in great condition, if I could persuade Mrs Overwoody to get a nice V60 instead of her Renault, she could have S60 and Id have this one like a shot, Id love the extra power and dark interior (mine is std engine and cream leather). ALso the iMIV Ipod controller wires into the back of these RTI units in about 5 mins, and you can watch Ipod Video on the RTI screen, the HU displays track name and playlist names.

BTW the car is in Kent.

Good luck with the sale, I doubt it will hang around for long, cars if this quality dont stay up for grabs for very long !

I have had to reduce the price of this by quite a lot recently (perhaps I was a little too optimistic)!...so I am now selling it for £9999. This is a very fair price considering the cars spec and condition...i don't know what joy other people have had selling there cars, but things seem very slow going at the moment don't they?!

Hi Tommo, I have been trying to sell my S60 D5SE for a couple of months now. I love the car but dont use it as I have a company vehicle and use my classics on the weekend. Can't believe people don't want these great cars. Best of luck. I think we all need it.

Cheers Stu.

Yep, things are really slow due to a lack of cash everywhere. The only way of selling privately is to bring the price down to trade value and then wait. Its not the car, its the market.

All cars are affected so when you come to buy, you should make back some of the ground you lost.

Just an update for my ad...i am looking at £8995 for the car. It was serviced three weeks ago, at Volvo and is good for another 18000 miles now, until the next one. Tyres are all new and taxed until May next year. I think that is a spanking deal really.

I have attached some photos, taken by the esteemed 'overwoody' - professional vehicle photographer (or at the very least better with a camera than me)!! I am open to offers around £8750, but clearly an offer of £10 will be met with laughter

I don't know if this is of any help....but this is the latest Glass's guide valuation.

Volvo S60 D5 Sport
2.4TD Diesel 4-door Saloon
6 Speed Manual Front Wheel Drive
Year: 2005 55
Mileage: 58,000

Part-exchange Price:

Excellent condition: £6120

Average condition: £5510

Below average condition: £4840

I know these are generic trade values, but even popular models of prestige makes are struggling to make book values in private sales - so the left of field stuff like S60s are just dead in the water. If you want to get this sold asap I think you would need to drop your asking price to £7500 at the very least and then be thankful if you could get £7k for it.

If it makes you feel any better, a Volvo specialist bid me £8500 on my Feb 2008, 13k mile S60 D5 185 manual. I think I'll be keeping it for a long while yet.

hrmm, i'd of considered this car, however i picked up a 2005 S60 d5 with black int, not as many extras as yours (no phone option) and i paid £5k and that came with a 6 month warranty...

saying that i'd have to have it serviced and put 4 new tyres on since then...

at the time i bought mine my local volvo place had a s60 d5 (with a lot less extra's and 03 plate) for £4,800, they still have it and dropped the price to under £4k now, but i can't see them selling it

the other thing is the one i had did have 106k on the clock when i picked it up, strangly the same amount as my last car had when i bought it all those years ago...
