RE: Stainless Braided Brake lines - real experiences
if you need any help with what pipe to use, what nuts to get and what flares volvo uses etc let me know. I had to go through all this myself and luckily sholtby was able to give some good advice.
I can also get some pics up if needed showing the flare and correct nuts.

There is a strong argument against ss lines as well. The improvement many see would be the same if they replaced the old ones with new standard ones. There have been cases of ss ones corroding or being damaged and fibres of the ss then cutting into the inner tubing. plus any splits/warp is hidden from inspection.
I remember a 911 owner crashing as a result of ss line failure. |

ss lines are not worth it, the standard hoses are more than adequate however if you want that aerospace look go ahead, just dont expect any real improvement people claiming a firmer pedal feel are imagining it unless theire old hoses were so degraded they actually were expanding there is no difference at all between a standard hose in good condition and a ss item

Do it, if they need replacement. If not, no need. :-) Alastair ---------------------------- http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/photopos...357v70-sig.jpg |

Only one thing against SS - salt (sodium chloride).
Chloride KILLS SS. If the ss is thick, it'll be slow, but it will happen. If you live in the cold where roads are gritted heavily for extended periods and want new lines, go for rubber. Ken |

RE: Stainless Braided Brake lines - real experiences
Volvo offer a reinforced hose (but not stainless wrapped) which is standard with their Performance Brake kit. The part number is 03524474. (The standard hose for the 302mm brakes is 09191400)
It is probably a bit longer than the hose for the 302 brakes but I imagine it would fit OK.
