Default Retrofit Leather Dashboard V90 T6

Hi all

I'm new to the Volvo world. Last Saturday I bought a 2017 V90 T6 Inscription with 39000km on the clock. As I was at the Volvo dealer I noticed that on some cars there was a leather dashboard with contrast stiching fited. Is it possible to retrofir the leather on the dash and on the doorpanels? Is the Leather just glued to the normel dash or do I need a new dashboard and doorcards?

Thank's a lot for any infos!

best regards from Switzerland
Matt

Non starter. The cost to source and replace will make it way more expensive than just buying a car with the spec you want even if it’s a bit more than you wanted to pay (you will probably get lots of other toys in higher spec car for that money). Another thing to keep in mind - any major tinkering with trim, dashboard will never put the fit to the same standard as factory and is very likely to introduce squeaks and rattles.

replacing the dash is a BIG deal. for an idea how big a deal this is, the way the car is built, the first thing assembled into the painted body shell is the wiring harness, the next thing to be assembled into the car is the pre-assembled dash. The result is that there is a LOT to be removed to get the dash out for replacement. It's probably two to three days of work for a tech to disassemble and re-assemble everything needed. The leather clad dash is not just leather glued onto the standard dash, it's a different moulding which the leather is laid onto.

I doubt a dealer would even let you do it because of the complexity.

Also keep in mind that there is a air bag in the dash. Any cover would have to account for that.

What everyone else said- the entire dash needs to be replaced- it's not just a leatherette cover..

Even though, judging by the numerous reported cases of leatherette cover de-laminating from the dashboard- one would be inclined to think that it's just a peel & stick job
