Water in the air intakes
Hi. Been trying to trace the source of my recurrent footwell lakes.
Where should water that goes in the air intakes at the bottom of the windscreen go? I'm presuming it should be routed out and just drip out below the engine somewhere. Turns out mine is letting quite a bit through, and it then drips out of the heater thing under the dash on to the transmission tunnel. Anyone had this problem before? Any clues before I start randomly undoing things and having a look? Cheers, Stuart |

The water outlet is on the lowest part of the fan unit in the engine bay. If memory serves me right its a rubber thing, full of leaves etc.

Hi Stuart,
Take off the air intake grill on the windscreen scuttle panel. I use a paint scraper to carefully lever up the clips. Lift out the plastic bucket that sits inside and then clean out the two drain holes at the front of the scuttle. You can use a length of net curtain rod to make sure that the plastic tubing that should hang down either side of the matrix in the engine bay is clear. This should stop the foot spa. Hope this helps, Gordon |

Next time you get a good bit of rain (or a friend with a hose), sit inside with a torch and study the heater box area, just to be sure. This problem might be an indication that your heater needs a good clean out too, it's amazing how much muck gets on it.
