Default Fumes in the cabin XC60

I’ve noticed recently that when I come to a stop, nasty exhaust fumes are coming into the cabin. At first I thought it was when I was in traffic during the commute but it happens other times when there are no other cars around. It’s not nice at all.

Car (XC60 D4 on a 67 plate new shape) is in for service in a few weeks but I wondered if anyone else had suffered from this?

I have this on my XC90 D5. At times it is so bad that I have had to open the windows and blue smoke has come through the air vents.

It smells like a combination of soot and oil, the car has been in for repairs once and is going in again, I will let you know what they find.

Thanks.

Have they tried to fix it already and failed or is this the first time it’s going in for the fumes?

Must admit that I’ve not noticed any blue smoke or anything like that.

Quite a few of us with this engine are also suffering similar issues... https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=297903

Don't get me wrong but we're talking here about a Volvo. Maybe an old Volvo could do that... my last Audi did it after long mileage and some good years on it. But a XC60/XC90 of 2018/19/20?? Hard to believe. It even offends me. Some might have that problem... one or two... unfortunately for the owners who got those but generally speaking 99% of nowadays Volvo don't do it and for sure won't do it in the future, in the long term.

Doubt he's fussed about offending you but the OP states it is a 67 Plate so not exactly old...

The car has been into the Volvo dealer already but they were unable to fix the problem, but I doubt if they could fix a blown fuse such is their staggering level of incompetence.

The blue smoke was after a particularly hard drive. The local Volvo dealer have had one attempt at repairing the problem, which I think was there before I gave them £500 for a service, which included replacing the cabin air filter.

I don't think they fitted the filter correctly, that's why the fumes are now noticeable.
