Default Recalls & Cam belt

I picked up my 2009 XC60 D5 on Sunday and I love it. It came with a Volvo service history but there are no details of what's been done. Can I assume that any recalls would have been sorted or should I take it to my local dealer?

Also can anyone tell me when the cam belt needs changing? I did a search on this site and all I could find was one reply saying 150,000 miles or 10 years! Surely it should be done sooner than that.

it should have had all the recalls done - but that depends on the previous owner(s) having taken it to Volvo to have them done - better to be safe and have them check. They should be able to check over the phone if you give them the reg and VIN - depends how helpful you local dealer want to be

I believe that the official figure is 100k mls or 10 years, though I think I would have it done a bit earlier - say 75k mls

I have just spoken Marshall Volvo Grantham, which is where it was serviced, and they were very helpfull. I now know that all recall work has been done and the cam belt should be changed at 108,000 miles or 10 years. The cost was a bit of a shocker though, £850 for a service that includes a new cam belt.

May seem dear but it's cheaper than valves meeting pistons if it breaks!!

I know, it happened to me once! I most certainly will be getting it done when the time comes.

Hence why if you buy a new Volvo the service plan is only for 5 years as the 6th year is the biggy with the cambelt change. (Assuming Max mileage p.a.)
