Default Classic Radio Wanted

Hi Guys,

Bit of a long shot but I wondered if anyone had an old car radio that would fit, and look the part, in a pre-72 144.

It doesn't have to work as I was going to hide a more modern radio in the glove box, I would just like something of the right age to sit in the horrible hole that I have in my dashboard!

Fingers crossed anyway.

Wow I really didn't expect a reply so soon, I love this forum.

That could be just what I am looking for. If you could put up a picture that would be awesome!

Are you after a regular size unit (i.e. as per modern ones), or an older spindle mount type? If you're going to be at the Southern BKV on Sunday, I can bring along a few spindle mount ones that I've been meaning to rehome, if that's of interest.

Hi 222, yeah it is the spindle mount type that I am after.

I do plan to go to the Southern BKV, I gave the car new number plates, the GT cluster and polished it yesterday and did the mats and engine bay this afternoon.

However it does seem to be loosing a lot of oil, so we'll be stopping at Winchester on the way up to see if we've lost too much to carry on!

Fingers crossed we should be ok and we should be there.

If we make it I'll be in a red 144 with my father. What will you be taking?
