Default 240 glt

240 GLT Wanted.

Already owning a 60,000 miles from new '85 model in dark red/black I have the bug to own at least one more perhaps a whole fleet of them, one in each colour & year!

requirements

Estate
Low mileage under 125000 preferably.
Well looked after with little or no rust.
Long term ownership.
A nice retro colour. Rarer the better, but original not resprayed.

Unlimited budget for right car.

If I can't find one soon may have a look at this..

Has anyone/could anyone view this GLT? Something about it looks wrong to me, can only compare against my '85 but it doesn't look anywhere near as retro or classy as "Ruby" for some reason. Perhaps it's just the photos? The tailgate paint looks very flat, & it just seems to look wrong..

I don't mind shelling out but the car needs to be right.

I went for a little investigate hunt yesterday as it happens to find the "dealer" selling the above car. Turns out he is about 5min drive from my house and the address for his business is his home address. That said i didn't see that estate on the premises.
There was a mint 'H' reg silver saloon outside which i've seen locally before, i would have stopped to get a picture but a lady washing a car on the drive gave me a funny look as i passed by.

Well the badges are in the wrong place for a start so it must of had a respray at the back, missing a wheel centre cap and the leather gear lever boot is missing too.

Not worth £3k.

maybe you should bang on the door & ask for a test drive, I think I'd be interested if it drove beautifully, tidy engine bay, FSH & looked better in real life than the photos.

I don't mind the colour, I think it would have looked better against tarmac than the location chosen for photographs. Also the shooting angles are not complimenting the car, & exposure is all over the place, making the paint look really higgledy piggledy!

thank you but it really is the sportier handling allied to extra power I like about the GLT.

The only other thing I would love is an original 240 Turbo...
