Thumbs up Question about Autel EU702

Hi all, I know this topic has been discussed on the forum, but I have had 3 fault messages appear over the last 2 months.
1. SRS sensor
2. Alarm system service required
3. Brake service required. (since disappeared)

Will the Autel EU702 point me to the cause of the faults and also clear the fault code ?
My local stealership has quoted me £98 to hook the car upto their diagnostic machine, probably another £100 to identify the faults, then god only knows how much to rectify.
I see the Autel is about £160, but would probably save in the long run.
Any advice would be warmly welcome....thanks in advance.

Tony

I used it. I was comparing it with Volvo Dice and it doesn't always give you the right error code.
Besides you've got only access to ECM, ABS and gearbox systems. It won't show you error codes from other onboard electronic units.

I personally think it's not worth it unless you can buy it for 30 quid.

You can actually buy a Chinese Dice copy for 200 odd quid. I just bought one. I'll see how it works once it arrives.

seeing as the autel 702 will do a Lot more than the "£30" scanners. and that "dice" needs vida and a latop with 4gig base memory etc etc. how exactly is it not worth it ?

For me it's worth it, hence my comment. Of course you need to include laptop price as well in that if you don't have one but nowdays almost everyone has one at home.

With Dice on the other hand you can do much more than just code reading or few live parameters reading.

Works fine with a basic single core laptop with a gig of ram, but does like dual core and 2 gig. Works best with XP or win 7 32bit, but will also work within 64bit os if you use the virtual machine facilities. Vida disc usually comes with the dice. If you dont have a laptop, it will obviously work off a desktop pc, the usb lead is about 3 meters, and I have used a 2m extension with mine as well.

Somewhere like bigpockets.co.uk do suitable laptops for 160 quid, but obviously it starts becoming an expensive solution at that point if you have no other use for a laptop.

I have used my Autel loads of times on many different makes of car, thus saving myself and friends/family the cost of the reader many times over.
