There's often low light overcast driving conditions here in Scotland...
In places with a long sunrise/sunset, DRLs are a sensible thing. |

I can see the benefits of DRL's in terms of safety yes. But why must everything be geared for safety?
Should all pedestrians have day time running lights? |

What I don't understand is why I have two lamp positions that do exactly the same thing. I'm an adult -- I drive with dipped beam at all times, because it's safer, and it's a Volvo so I'm supposed to... but occasionally, I just want to turn them all off for whatever reason. Anyone know if it can be done at home with Vida and dice?

SOME dealers will bull*hit you with refusing to do it , the software isnt avaliable, etc,, but it is and IF your car is prior to 2011 its legal to do so it Will save you burning out the reflectors in the dip beam projectors. once done, dont post up as all the self-righteous clowns will start again

Don't forget to inform your insurance , as Day running lights are a safety feature which helps keep your premium reasonable ...

its just a disable of feature that is not a legal requirement, I would think. (im all hands on for DRLs, I drive on lights 24/7 but I like to be able to decide whether I want to)...

My plan is to leave the sidelights on as DRLs, I just don't want dipped beam on at all times. In fairness though the sidelights on these facelift C30s are pretty crap...
