Fuel door
I washed the old V40 a few days ago and now the fuel door is no longer flush with the rest of the body. I assume some plastic piece is gone? Has anyone had this happen? Is there a common part that break? Part no? Or could someone take a photo of the area around the fuel filler cap with the door open? Grateful either way. It is not exactly major but I don't like it...

On the right hand side of the opening, the non hinged side, you have the locking bolt area. There should be a rubber cover over the metal assembly. If your door is sitting in too far at that side, I would assume you have blasted off the rubber boot because that is what the door stops against.

Right, yes there is no rubber.

Did you jet wash the car at home? Did you open the filler cover to jet wash? Where exactly did you first open the fuel cover after jet washing as it is too big to fall out without it opening.

I did open it to clean out inside the fuel filler area. Nobody had cleaned the car for about 10 years. Sadly, the item will no longer be where I washed the car.
