Default New clutch master cylinder Engine System Service Required -

Hi All,

Car: v50, 2004 2.4 petrol (140bhp)

I have a big problem. My clutch was sticking intermittently, and it turned out it's a faulty master cylinder that sticks. I had a new master cylinder installed (Brembo) and now the car is displaying "engine system service required" and the cruise control is not working, also the car is very jerky when releasing the throttle.

The clutch position sensor was removed from the factory master cylinder and has been installed on the new aftermarket one. It does not have any electrical connections to the cylinder ( i assume it works via magnetic principals ). Is it possible that the new aftermaker master cylinder does not support the OEM position sensor, so the sensor doesn't get any signal from the cylinder? Anybody has any experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Valentine
