Anti Skid Service required. Sensor 1&2 Low pressure (HELP!)
Hello,
Parked in a muddy field. Upon leaving, Anti skid service required message appeared on dash. I got home and my neighbour read it as sensor 1 and 2 have low pressure. What is the solution for this? I am no expert but learning quickly!! Many thanks, V70 D5 SE AUTO '05 |

Clear the faults, most of the time this will go away and not come back (if you stay off muddy fields). Otherwise, you will need to fit new sensors

Thanks for your reply!
Cleared the faults last night, had the same warning message this morning but went away after a good motorway drive. Hopefully doesn't come back. Out of interest, do you know what the sensors are called, or even have their part number? (Just in case) Also, is it normal for this light to come on after a visit to a muddy field? All I did was park slightly off the road - dipping one wheel into the brown stuff. |

I had it pop up once when doing some turning around on a slippery muddy bit, which made the ABS kick in at one point, probably the ABS over-reacting (guess it doesn't get much of a work out if we are driving correctly!)

I hope the warning message does not reappear and you do not have to replace the sensors.
About 2 years ago I got the same ABS Service Required message , but no eddy fields were involved. The codes showed the low pressure on the ABS sensors, I cleared them a few times but each time the message returned. Eventually I had to bite the bullet and get both replaced. I could have just done one, but it made sense (to me!) to do both and ensure the car was set for the next 100,000 miles. The Volvo OEM parts were very expensive (£200 + apiece if my memory serves me correctly.
