Lightbulb V70 Tramlining - poll

Threads are often popping up regarding tramlining & tyres are obviously an issue, so I thought I'd set up a poll to see if we can find the "definitive" tyre for the V70. Is it only the V70? Is it only on 17" wheels? Your thoughts?

It affects the 17 and 18 inch wheels.

I would HIGHLY reccomend the Goodyear Eagle F1's or Continental SportContact2's

Michelin Pilots are fine but are a bit noisy I find.

.........and S40's on 15" wheels - usually on P6000's - I'm running Contis these days (and they're quieter).

Having just chnaged from the standard and blinkin aweful 15" alloy wheels to some decent 7 spoke Volvo 17" wheels with P-Zero's on, excellent tyre on the car and helps the understeer a lot. Now I find the back swinging round a lot harder than prior to fitting these....

Thumbs up

Looking at the poll, I think I'm gonna try the Goodyear Eagles. They seem to be the tyre of choice, though I'd be interested to know what types the "others" are. Keep voting folks!

Just sifting thru some old threads; seems the Goodyears need bigger steering stops fitted to prevent rub at full lock. Any suggestions for tyres which will cure the tramlining but not need bigger stops? If not, how much will fitting bigger stops cost me?

I am running 17" Titans on a 97 V70 with 215/40 Dunlops SP3000 (? or 2000s - top of the range jobbies anyway)

They are quiet and offer tremendous front end grip - and bugger all tramlining.
