The codes you have quoted are OBDII generic codes, the only ECU's fitted to the 850/early 70 series that were OBDII compliant (and produce OBDII codes)were Motronic 4.4. These ECUs were only fittted to 20V cars.

This makes be believe the car originally had a 20V engine and a 10 V engine has been fitted. The way to tell is to check the car's vin no (this contains the engine type).

The 10V and 20V engines used different engine management systems (and sensors) so this could be contributing to your problems.

but the log book states 10 valve i think, i shall have to check.

what do i do if this is the case

Your VIN number does relate to a car that was fitted with a B5252FS engine.

this is the type of OBDII which was used to read my codes but they did not have the correct card for the 850 10valve 1996, so they used a card which wasnt correct.

As previously posted, your car does not have OBDII from what I can see.

The fault code list (from the software that shall not be named) are 3 digit one's, for example 1-2-2 Air Temperature Sensor Signal.

under the ashtray there is a coin holder which says OBDII underneath of this is a OBDII plug

this was taken from the link you just sent

"Post ’96 cars were fitted with an OBDII style diagnostic socket on front of the gearlever under the coin holder marked OBDII. "
