Hi All,

As my XC90 (although old!) seems to attract Vandals; I have decided to fit Front & Rear Dashcams.

Can anybody tell me which position, in either of the Fuse Boxes; will give me a constant Live Feed for the Hard Wire Kit?

Hi, surprised none of the experts have answered this, but it is my understanding that the cigar lighter or 12 v socket in the boot (trunk) is permanently live. This would be where I would try.

Test by plugging something in.

Hope this helps

I would find that useful to know as well - I know about the boot 12v socket, but it would be good to know about a hardwire feed possibility both in the front and rear. Rear is relatively easy as the battery is just under the floor and could be wired directly using a fused direct wiring setup.

Talking Fuse panel at the end of the dashboard

Hi
If you remove the cover at the end of the dashboard, drivers side, there are a few empty live sockets on the fuse board. Just test them with a bulb or meter to see which ones are permanent live and which are switched live.
Fit a spade connector on a wire and plug it in a live socket, job done.
I fitted an inline fuse close to the outlet to protect the whole system.
It has been powering my parrot kit for 6 years and no problem.

I am sure there is a way of connecting to the rear of the fuse board but I do not know how.

If I get chance I will post a photo later.
