2007 D5 Possible Vacuum Issue.
New to the forum, thought i'd ask my first question! lol
I have a 2007 xc90 D5. When starting the car up and also occasionally slow rolling, I get a vibration sound from the front of the car. I have tested the vacuum mounts with a basic vacuum test, and they both hold vacuum no problems. Now the vacuum solenoid does appear to get very hot, but can physically hear the vacuum working. I do have a copy of vida, and if i activate the solenoid in vida, it replicates the sound i hear when starting up etc. Would this indicate a failing brake vacuum pump maybe? Thanks in Advance |

You have everything you need at your disposal so If you suspect the vacuum pump and you have a vacuum tester just connect the tester to pump.

I had no idea there was a difference.
I have one of these cheap jobs for £8 and it pumps and tests plenty accurately enough. Just connect it up, take the reading and check the needle stability as shown in this video here.

Ahhh now it all falls into place haha.. Well I've watched ya vids pal.. Very informative.. And after testing the vacuum... It would seem my pump is slow at building vacuum.. Have got one from a breaker.. I'll give itna whirl..
