Default AC switching on/off

Hi all,
V40 19 DI 2002

My car AC does strange things. The AC switch on the control panel changes from on (green led) to off (red led) without touching .At some moment like 10 times a min. Later on it stays on for a period and then starts the chrismas tree again.
For me there is no logic in it.It is pure random .Any idea ?

See if the ac compressor clutch plate is cycling in and out at the same time.
If so, that's normally low gas.

Have you got any of the heater/direction controls set to 'auto' by any chance ?

Sounds like the compressor clutch needs re-shimming...

Yes the controls always stay on AUTO. Only by defrost I turn to Front windows.I let it be 24°c winter or summer.

Mine switches on and off for a few seconds at a time if set to auto, try setting it to something else.
