Default fuel filter change

I was about to change the fuel filter for diesel engine, what is the procedure for this, can it be a simple disconnect, then connect up new one, read somewhere with the diesel filter (31422125 d4162t ) that the top has to be opened and filled with fuel, can I get away with this, also would it have to vacuum pumped, thanks in advance s40 2011

Needs a vaccum pump / bulb or it wont start.

Filling the filter with diesel is highly recommended.
