Default 1.8 Petrol Gasket Part number

Hi everybody, I damaged the circular gasket on the intake manifold while replacing the pcv valve. I can find the square(ish) gaskets readily available but not the circular one that goes around the egr pipe as shown in the image.

https://ibb.co/pfN00Pr

Can anyone inform me of the part number?

Many thanks in advance

Excellent, thanks PNM. I don't suppose you have the part number for the clip / grommet that holds the PCV valve in place? As in the picture linked below

https://ibb.co/tLYj5mY

The closest I've found is this but I'm not 100% sure it will fit:

Thanks once again, I'm really grateful for your help.

According to the parts diagram I'm looking at, the clip isn't available separately from the oil trap. You might have to take your chances with the MX5 one

Thanks again. I really appreciate your time in looking that up. I was afraid of that. I'm not convinced that the mx5 part will fit.

I've spotted a used oil separator with the clip intact so I'm going to go down that route. I was silly enough to crack the clip when removing the pcv valve.... These things weren't meant to be taken apart it seems.

What a pain in the backside this job has become.

Thanks again

Hi again PNM. In the end I ordered the mx5 clip for the pcv valve. It has arrived and looks like it will fit. I'll confirm that when I get the chance to fit it over the weekend.

I don't suppose you know the part number for bolts (8 in total) that fix the manifold to the engine? By my count I'm now missing one... Don't ask me how. This job gets longer by the day.

Once again, your help is really appreciated.

Good news about the mx5 part

Looks like you should only have 7 bolts anyway (4&5 in the diagram).

Thanks once again PNM,

The mx5 clip is an exact fit so I'm very happy with that. Now, after having the manifold off twice, I'm happy with the job. Pcv valve, clip, hose and map sensor replaced along with new gaskets and a clean throttle body. After a quick spin, the car feels great - much more 'alert' . I replaced the gearbox torque mount today too which seems to have firmed things up.

The map sensor screw was badly corroded and the head sheared off. The sensor can rotate sufficiently in order that a new hole can be drilled adjacent to the original hole for a new (stainless) screw.

For anyone wanting to do this job. My advice is to buy the pcv clip in advance. You'll likely break it when removing it. Use mazda part number LF01-10-509.

Also, for easier removal of the manifold, once you separate the manifold from the engine you can pull it away enough to get a 22mm spanner on the egr pipe to remove it - just don't drop it inside the manifold. The pipe gets in the way otherwise.

One other thing, PNM.

I was planning on changing the gearbox oil today. Prepared my Funnel and hose etc but I fell at the first hurdle - the fill plug (allen head) rounded out completely. I'm going to try to get it loose with a screw extractor set but will need a new plug.

Do you have part numbers for the fill plug and drain plug (in case that one rounds, too)?

Thank once again!

All the best

James

I hate that sinking feeling when the head gives and you know you've created yourself a load of extra work!

The diagram isn't especially clear, but it appears that the fill and the drain are the same - 986823. You'll probably want some new crush washers as well - 11996
