Default XC90 B5 (D) Polestar optimisation

Any thoughts on Polestar optimisation of the XC90 B5 diesel pls? Have a D5 XC90 atm without Polestar but considering having it done to my (Mar 22ish) B5 when it arrives.
Tow a 2000kg caravan and feel the additional torque may be particularly useful?
When PS is fitted can you notice a difference in each drive mode? I spend 95% of the time in ‘Comfort’ as like the start/stop function so would the difference be noticeable in that mode or is it only when in ‘Dynamic’ that the difference will be felt? Does the Dynamic mode then read Polestar?
I think Polestar optimisation of the B5 D engine is a relatively recent possibility but is certainly showing on PS website currently.

I asked a similar question recently, albeit for the petrol variant.

From my experience, as a complete package I have found it to be very good. From a BHP standpoint a re-map would give more gains, and be a lot friendlier on the wallet, but that is not the question. Polestar Optimisation interacts with so many of the vehicles powertrain systems. The increased torque is always welcome and the transmission shift points do take away the indecision you sometimes get when the box can’t decide what gear to take. Throttle response is sharper in all drive modes, you still get the stop/start function in comfort mode however, all the different drive modes still retain their original functions. Dynamic Mode is re-named as Polestar Engineered, once you select this you get the full experience.
Driving away from the dealership after I had my car optimised it was immediately obvious things had changed, the car was a lot friskier, and that was still in the comfort setting.

I didn’t think the B5 was Polestar optimisable.

Where are you seeing it on the website?

Not massive gains then but the 20 secs of 40 extra torques would be useful for the odd overtake.

Not sure it’ll be worth whatever Volvo will charge though and suspect you could get more for less with a 3rd party tune.

Warranty is the big pull though!

Interesting, hopefully they roll this out for the XC60 as well in the near future. Assuming it wont take much work, as I think the B5(D) engines are the same in both..
