That would be even more interesting to drive! Wonder whether they will bring a 'tuned down' version to market?

Ford Mondeos are figuring quite high on my like list at the moment, but that could change?
I have had the use of an 06 Ford Mondeo Ghia X Estate for the last couple of weeks and I am impressed.
Very nearly as comfortable as my S60, pin sharp handling, massive load space, quiet, decent steering lock and build quality equal to my car for starters.
I am sorely tempted to have an 05/06 model as they cost peanuts

Have had 2 XC90's and I am now on my second XC60 - all in past 7 years - did try a Lexus RX400h between the XC90's and first XC60 and that lasted just 9 months - car was fine but felt smaller and more awkward than the XC's and never got settled in it. Would I buy another Volvo? - As soon as the new XC90 arrives, yes!

I regularly drive the latest models from all of the mainstream manufacturers. They all feel pretty much the same. The newest model Audi A4 Avant is rubbery, soul-less and sterile to drive. The Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy are built for the first owner and I can't see them doing high mileages without major expense. The Insignia is pretty poor all round and the 3 & 5 series aren't any better built or any better to drive than any of the above.

I've owned an 850 T5 CD and an S60 2.4 T5 SE. I'm currently driving an S80 T6 SE which is an absolutely brilliant car (largely thanks to a brand new gearbox, so no worries there). There are very few cars that I'd consider changing to. All of them have a Volvo badge.

When my S70 eventually goes to Valhalla I`ll replace her with another but older Volvo, there will still be plenty around that`s for sure.

Yes. Tried the competition and don't like. Of course, my dream car would be an Aston or a classic Jag or some such but in the real world, Volvo every day.

My current S60 is our 4th Volvo - a '96 850 2.5 10v Estate (in 97), a '98 S40 1.8SE saloon (in '98 - for the wife when I got a company car that replaced the 850 as main car), a 52 S60 D5 SE auto (in 2007) and an S60 2.4D S manual in 2009.

I have had other things (particularly between '98 and '07) including Bmw, VW, people carriers and 4x4s, but the Volvos just suit me now - great seats, good on the Motorway (i do 40000 miles a year, mainly in a straight line!) and discrete whilst having a bit of poke and good fuel consumption.

I'd love an XC60 but it doesnt hit the mark on fuel costs, and the V60 R design Premium D5 is gorgeous and i do keep looking - but this car is only worth 2k, only has 135k on the clock, 7 months MOT remaining, and is just too good to encourage me to spend more money! Maybe when MoT is done in Feb I can make a decision....

PS ticked likely to buy another as you never know what may happen round the corner!
