See enclosed picture that shows the construction and material breakdown of the hood assembly. It states alloy without giving the exact grade of aluminium used.

So far so good.
I've past the 1000 miles today and I can say that we are very happy so far.
I'm having difficulty getting the driving position just how I like it without getting pains. Going to start a new thread and ask advise of others. |

It could well be that you have sciatica , a friend had a similar problem , a course of Ibuprofen pills completely rid him of it .
I'm no medical doctor mind . One thing for certian it wont be the car seats ...

I filled up yesterday (2nd time) when the display was showing 43.6mpg and 32mph but I think, based on the fuel to fill the tank, the display is a bit optimistic. Based on the fuel to fill I calculated 41.6mpg but an error of 1 litre would be quite significant so I will keep checking this to validate the readings. I would still be very happy with that figure but would prefer the guage to be accurate. The Zafira had a "gallons used" reading and that meant that I could do a check on actual vs calculated by not resetting the reading over a few tank fills. It will take a bit longer without it.
I have just done another 200 miles today and the computer is now showing 46mpg for this tank (can't remember the average speed) and I have the return trip to do tomorrow. If I am not careful I will have to increase my annual mileage with the insurance company :-) |

Figures after the return trip tonight. It was a wet drive back from Cambridge, and the A14 was very busy.
The T1 figure is the miles on the latest (3rd) tank of fuel. |

Thats pretty impressive. I'm struggling to get above 35mpg with D5 manual just now, mind you still running her in, only 700 miles covered so far so will see if it improves.

Yes really impressive fuel consumption you’re getting Ransman . I note your average speed is 46 MPH which must be due to a fair bit of dual carriageway or motorway use where you can maintain a decent speed and momentum.
I am struggling round the Yorkshire Dales in my D3 Auto to attain anything like 45MPG. With slow often hilly country roads and traffic .My average speed is 28MPH with an average MPG showing of 36.7 . I can see that the continuous fuel consumption monitor is showing 50-90mpg on a steady throttle once rolling along the few dual carriageways I get on but most of the time I seem to be conscious of it being under 20 mpg getting the vehicle rolling from slow crawling traffic.
