V90 bad tyre wear - common or faulty?

I’ve a V90 D4 running original 225/54/17 wheels

I’m getting some inside tyre wear in both front wheels but really bad outside tyre wear in rear left hand side - Ie shoulder worn smooth while centre of tyre is still 6mm

Tyre man thinking it might be way the car is set but I’m thinking something is wrong. Wonder should I bring it to the dealer but not sure what I’m asking them to look at - anybody have similar experience?

I had to replace the factory Michelin rear tyres on my V90 D4 (2017 model) earlier this year at ~37K miles for just this reason - both sides had worn smooth on the outside shoulder, yet plenty of tread left in the centre and on the inner shoulders.

I had the car 4-wheel aligned but it came back with no adjustments required. The fronts were down to about 3.5mm so I had all 4 tyres replaced prior to the 4-wheel alignment. The car has only done a couple of hundred miles since then as I've spent most of the year in hospital, however, once I'm back to driving I shall keep a close eye on the wear pattern. The dealer has offered to re-do the alignment free of charge once I've put some miles on the clock so it'll be interesting to see what that shows (probably that it's all still aligned).

I wondered whether the tyres were faulty as there seems little other explanation that makes sense..

Interesting, I also have Michelin’s (Primacy 2’s) but I wish I had 37k miles - I’ve only got 35k kilometers. I never rotated them and the front were worn (2mm) after only 26k Kilometers which I think is very poor. I’m based in Ireland and drive on a lot of bad roads so that’s a factor of course.

Sorry to hear you’ve spent so long in hospital, hopefully your back driving your Volvo soon.

The fronts had already been replaced once, but the rears were factory originals.
I applied for my licence to be returned a week or so ago and have confirmation that the DVLA have received my application so I'm now allowed to drive again
As a result, I took her for a quick spin on Friday when we popped home for a couple of hours, but we're now back to staying near the hospital so won't be able to go home again until I'm officially dis-charged a day or two after lockdown is scheduled to finish - can't wait to get back home and start living a more normal life again.

Just moving on from my V90 T6 after 30 months and got 30,000 miles out of my stock P zeros, albeit swapped from the back to the front after 18k, following back wheel damage. Still pretty good really. Have cross climates on the back now and they’ve gone 12k with virtually no wear. FYI all
