Perished rubber sealing on sunroof - Page 2

The rubber seal on my sunroof is not perishing, but shrinking. There is about a half inch gap at each end on the rear fixed half.
Maybe perishing is next!

There's a topic running on another part of the forum on this exact matter. I contributed but can't find it now. The seal on my roof has about a 1/2" gap on both sides (3 month old V90 R). I don't remember a similar gap on my last V90.

I have had mice in two cars a Merc and a CRV. Both had similar damage to your photos.

Mostly under the bonnet but in the CRV it got inside mainly because my daughter used to leave chocolate in the glove box. Got him or her with a mouse trap.

Further to the shrinking rubber, the V90 is going in to the dealer next week on the 18th.
Apparently there was a Volvo bulletin regarding it.
Will let you know the outcome.

Just for the record - I have had my seal replaced under warranty. No argument required. Hopefully it will now be good for another three years.

Volvo WILL be improving the seal that's how they work , you may or may not have got the improved one though .

Did anyone resolve this problem

I purchased a XC 90 on 68 plate earlier this month. I have found the same the exact same issue on my sunropof seal as in the original pictures

Well, I took my car in for the shrunken seal issue some months ago and it's shrunk again. Thinking back I suspect that they did no more than take it out, give it a stretch and put it back. Will raise the matter again after Christmas when it goes in for it's first service. This time I will insist in seeing the old seal.
