Default WTD: Unicorn parts!

I'm after the following parts if anyone has them sitting in their garage taking up valuable space

All to fit a phase 1 (1997) S70 -

1. First the easy one - Grey dashtop panel, ideally with the centre speaker, but no problem if not as I have a spare centre speaker. I'm finding the beige one creates a lot of reflections on the screen. Must be spotless condition.

Now the unicorn bits -

2. Birch wood trim bits to suit RHD S/V70 - centre console, glovebox, rear ashtray, steering wheel, manual gearlever knob, handbrake cover. Open to offers for individual items as I know how rare they are.

3. Set of four S/V70R BEIGE door cards Yes, I know

I'll update this advert if I find any of these items, so if I haven't crossed them off, I'm still looking!

Thanks

Re: dark grey dashtop - my car has an interior the same colour as yours and I also notice the glare / reflection. I was just unsure if it would look OK. Have you seen it done on other cars? Also, you don't mention if your car has a front passinger airbag.

The dark ones glare more IMHO!

Must admit I never noticed it before in my V70Rs - they both had the dark grey interior..???

Tweedle - good point - my S70 does NOT have a passenger airbag, but I reckon that a dashtop fitted with an airbag should still fit ok? I have a big recess where the airbag unit would be so I don't think it will foul on anything.

Re the aethetics, my second 960 had a dark dashtop over an orangey/beige interior -

Yes, grey dash tops are awful for glare too, use a baby wipe to clean rather that shiny dash cleaners, it helps.

I may be able to come up with 4 door cards, going to a V70 on Friday to remove pump and injectors, interior in it is spotless. If you drop me an email to AndyD345@btinternet.com I'll send pics when I'm at the car.

Hi Andy, thats very generous of you thanks!

Ideally I'm after some 'R' type doorcards as they don't suffer from the trim coming loose in the recesses, however if the doorcards in that V70 are BEIGE and have no imperfections then I'd be very interested - depending upon the cost and how we'd get them over to Doncaster of course!!!

You can see where the material is loose around the rear of the door handle recess - typical on the S/V/C70 sadly.

Thanks for your kind offer once again!

Yep, usual for these! There is youtube vids show people repairing them, not sure how successful it would be though!

I do vaguely remember thinking it was a shame to scrap them cards because they were good, but thats as much as I remember lol

This is a V70R doorcard - as you can see that recess is covered in leather instead of the fabric in the lower models.

I have only ever seen ***one*** V70R with a beige interior, so I know the chances of finding a set will be pretty slim... I'm expecting to have to have a go at repairing mine - which is ok, as they're in very good condition otherwise. Just that I like the leather look, and it'd kill two birds with one stone

Good luck with the Birch trim, I made the brave decision with my previous C70 and had scratches up my arms for over a week after I fitted it! (And two screws left over)

If I had to do it again I'd probably take the whole dash out to change the wood trim or, take the easy option and learn to like the one I have.

Its certainly one of the more awkward trim changes that I've done! That centre console in particular was a beast to do - IIRC I also omitted two screws from there

Quite a spectacular look with black upholstery - IMHO
