Can I just get a step by step process to get the adjustment correct, having got the volvo shoes in and the clips, and the drum/disc back on what's the next step,

Is it take up the slack with the new internal adjuster, or set the pedal to 2 clicks, when do you take up the cable adjuster clip?

If a kind person could give a step by step, that would be really helpful, there seem many bits to adjust but important to get the order correct to get the best results.

if you have added an " adjuster screws" it won't be as volvo intended , they are masking the problem not curing it and the shoes will not be held squarely to the drum which is what the standard distance piece does ..

the standard set up is adequate when in good condition ..

Procedure for setting up parking brake is as recent toylexus thread.
Most owners of xc90 have fitted the adjusters (including myself) with good results. These were fitted as standard by volvo on other volvo models ie.850 ..S80 of which I have ...so can not understand why not xc90. Follow the toylexus thread and you will be fine .

Volvo are right that's how they designed it , anything else is a bodge talking from a purist point of view .
just repair the cause of the problem not modify things to mask the true cause ... It would be interesting to see what the insurance investigator would have to say after finding an XC90 parked on a slope has gone through a house wall and ended up in the living room .
